The Importance of Service Maintenance Contracts
By: Leslie Strachan

One the most frustrating challenges all companies face is equipment failure and without a reliable maintenance program, these mishaps can significantly raise the cost of running your business. Most manufacturers offer warranties with their equipment but they aren’t always as reliable as one would like. You may find yourself waiting on equipment and engineer availability, and when the warranty expires your business may be at risk.

In our June eNewsletter we shared our “team-based” business philosophy inspired by Patrick Lencioni’s book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. We briefly touched on the importance of Trust and the ability to Engage in conflict, but today we will focus on Commitment and Accountability:

  • Commitment: Lack of commitment, according to Lencioni, results from a fear of conflict. If members of your team do not feel comfortable to engage in passionate debate or express their ideas and opinions, they rarely commit to decisions although they may feign agreement in a meeting.
  • Accountability: If a team has not truly committed to a plan of action, chances are they will hesitate to hold each other accountable for actions and behaviors counterproductive to the goals of the team.

Strong team characteristics are synergistic in nature. Developing one characteristic will result in the emergence of others. At Technology Team, we are truly committed to offering our customers a high quality relocation service with minimized downtime. Our team goal is to exceed your expectations.

Your service provider may claim that they alone should handle your equipment during a relocation to ensure warranty coverage in case of damages, but this will significantly raise the cost of your relocation. Many warranties require only certain services be completed by the service provider such as de-commissioning and commissioning equipment. As part of our strategic methodologies, Technology Team creates a detailed relocation plan which dictates when using your service provider is necessary to maintain the integrity of your warranty. We provide you experienced relocation services, limit unnecessary external costs, and save your company time and money.
