We are focusing this month on the importance of secure and legal recycling processes for technology equipment. Recent legislature has brought the importance of IT recycling to businesses like yours. Below is a testimonial from one of Technology Team’s customers we’d like to share with you.

“Technology Team has recently assisted my company with our recycling needs. Since I am in the banking industry, it was imperative that all information was permanently removed from the hard drives of our old computers. I was confident choosing Technology Team since they have experience managing the destruction of sensitive information.

The “Team” removed and shredded the hard drives on site and created a detailed inventory of everything to be recycled. All remaining material was sent to their partnering recycler. Technology Team promptly gave us a certificate verifying the effective destruction and recycling of the equipment for our records. I would absolutely recommend Technology Team’s services to any company wishing to recycle their end-of-life equipment.”

Sincerely,
Debbie H.

We’d like to be of service to your company as you look to update critical IT equipment and dispose of older equipment. Please consider forwarding this eNewsletter to colleagues who may benefit from our services.

Technology Team Welcomes Jennifer Turner

Technology Team strives to maintain excellent communication with our clients and one way
to do so is through effective writing. Luckily, our newest intern, Jennifer Turner, assists with
our written communication whether it is with newsletter articles, sales proposals, or general
business letters.

“I love to write” she said “and I believe that all writing is important writing when it comes to business.”

Jennifer maintains that words are powerful tools when trying to solve problems, negotiate with others or deal with clients. She hopes to sharpen her writing skills by working to sustain Technology Team’s rhetorical presence.

Last month’s question: What kind of metal was recycled into shell casings during WWI?

Answer: The answer we were looking for was aluminum, however, brass could also be considered an answer. Since no one answered aluminum, we had a drawing from the ones that answered brass and the winner was Pete Anderson, CIO for the City of Fort Worth.

Congratulations Pete and thanks to you all that entered! Keep entering for your chance to win.

This month's question- Which presidential inauguration was the first to be photographed?

Submit the correct answer by January 29th for a chance to win a Starbucks gift card.

What New Texas Recycling Laws Mean To You…

New recycling laws will impact businesses abilities to dispose of old IT equipment. The following activity list will aid in your recycling process decision making:

  1. Inventory items to be disposed of – this is an excellent time to consider an asset management program for multiple financial benefits

  2. Secure an IT moving company to physically move the items without damage to components which could be environmentally dangerous

  3. Schedule on-site destruction of hard drives for security of company sensitive information

  4. Work with a recycling company that provides a Sarbanes Oxley approved certificate of recycling

Or call Technology Team to take care of all these steps for you and enable you to continue working on your business!
