How Online Identity Thieves Get Your Information

Some identity theft does occur through more "old-school" methods such as stealing your wallet, raiding your business files, overhearing you give a credit card or social security number over the phone, or even raiding your business file cabinet. However, commonsense tactics such as avoiding public conversations that involve your personal or business financial information or putting locks on your file cabinets can be used to combat those threats.

Internet threats, on the other hand, are much more sophisticated and involve greater "know-how" in order to prevent them. There are 3 basic ways cyber criminals gain access to your personal information over the web. They are:
1. PHISHING
2. E-MAIL SCAMS
3. SPYWARE

Last month’s question: Was Elvis Presley's favorite soap:
(A) Irish Spring (B) Lava (C) Neutrogena

Answer: Very cleverly answered by Phillip Dye of Larsen Dye Associates Architects.
I thought we should share his answer - "Based on Lieber's method of elimination, I am submitting my assumed correct answer with the reasoning. (Lieber was my advanced physic's instructor in undergraduate school. The test was multiple choices in a class of 600 students.)
Known facts:
1. Elvis really liked girls
2. Irish Spring commercials featured large burley guys with a lot of body hair.
3. Lava is rough and not something a girl would appreciate.
4. Lava soap can remove things that other soaps cannot remove.
5. I am not sure what a Neutro is but it could be the trick answer.
6. Gena is possibly a bad spelling for a girl's name, maybe the French version.
7. Elvis liked French girls.
Conclusion: The answer is "C" Neutrogena

This month's question: : Where is the top wedding city in the world?
A) Las Vegas; Nevada; B) Paris, France; or C) Istanbul, Turkey

Submit the correct answer for a chance to win a Starbucks gift card!

Meet our Summer Intern

Jayson Hello, my name is Jayson Haynes and I am the new marketing intern for Technology Team, LLC. Currently, I attend Texas Christian University where I am studying Strategic Communications and Marketing. I expect to graduate in May 2012. I was born in Fort Worth and raised in the local area. The first most important thing in my life is my family. I have three gorgeous little sisters, Madelyn (13) and identical twins Katie and Carly (10). My dad, Jay, is a family physician working at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, and my mom, Bonny, is a city council woman in the town of Argyle where my family resides.

In my free time I love water sports, playing golf and basically any outdoor activity. To me, the most beautiful, peaceful place in the world is the East Texas woods. Getting up at 5 am to go duck hunting is never an imposition. Smelling the pines, and watching the woods wake up around you is incredible.

Going to TCU has given me the pleasure of watching the Horned Frogs football team reign to their highest level of success in the last 4 years since winning the national championship in 1938. On Saturdays in autumn, bleeding purple is the only task on my agenda.

I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity. So far, working under Sherry and Allen's guidance has been a wonderful learning experience. Their way of doing good business can be seen daily at the office. I know that what I will learn from here on out will have a great impact on my professional knowledge and personal growth.
